Chicken and Waffle Day with Metro Dinner

6:58 PM

Hello, World!
Your favorite blogger is back and right in time for the Chicken and Waffle Day!
And what could be the better place to celebrate my two favorite dishes than at the newly opened Metro Dinner right here in Oklahoma City. Yes, my lovely Okies, we now have our own Metro Dinner.

I originally spotted the Metro Dinner sign about a month ago and almost drove my car off the road. And that's the true story guys. I was going down Memorial road when a green sign on top of the building caught my eye. I didn't get to read what was written on it, but I instantly recognized the shape and was like.."Nooo way". And as the true "rubber necker" than I am, I had to look back to make sure my eyes weren't tricking me. So, while I was ogling the signs, I wasn't paying attention to craters that are the Oklahoma roads and ended up hitting one of the craters (aka pot holes) which made me to careen of the road. I know, very anti-climatic story...

Now, before you guys say anything, let’s tackle the elephant in the room, or the fact that there are no waffles in the post that is talking about chicken n waffles. In my defense the first time I went to the Metro Dinner my camera died. And I don't mean the battery, but the camera itself. I don't know why but it gave me the Error 99. What you are seeing in this post is from the second time I visited the  Metro Dinner.  And this time around I wanted to try something that wasn't a breakfast food.

Of course, the next obvious question is how did I like the food. I am not going to lie, it was....(drum roll) Great both times I went. But, I am sure, that wasn't a surprise answer to you all. I mean this place was featured on the food network as one of the best dinners in US after all. Everything was cooked to perfection, chicken was crispy (waffles were amazing), and the burger was huge.

That said, personally, I think I’ll just stick to the breakfast menu next time around.  I usually never order diner or even lunch at the dinners, since the food tends to be on the mild side. I love my food bold, bright and spicy and the dinner/cafeteria food usually lacks in both. But for those who loves the taste of the true American food, this place is defiantly a must.

Since, I am a fashion blogger, I have to mention my outfit. Originally, I was going to channel my inner Riversdale/ retro diva and wear a vintage dress (when in Rome, right?). But, my husband said that I looked as if I'm going to the Halloween party (hater), so I had to change into something from our own era. So today, I am wearing my bulletproof combo: a cute top and a pair jeans.
My adorable top and shoes are both from Nakd and currently on sale.

 Outfit Details

Top: Nakd c/o // Jeans: AE // Sunglasses // Bag: Valentino // Shoes: Nakd (currently on major sale)
